We're still waiting for any news on the vet school front. It might be as late as June before we hear anything back, depending on when the admissions council/board/what have you convenes to discuss the alternates. No clue right now how many alternate positions actually opened up... but fingers are crossed!
I also want to have a small, personal brag for a moment-- I started to work for Jimmie, a friend and financial advisor, when I was 17 and in college. When I started working for him, he set up a Roth IRA for me that I have been contributing to monthly ever since. I went in for my annual review of my Roth today and I am pleased to say that right now I have about $16k of retirement savings! Hooray future financial security, considering SS might not be around when I get to be that age! Hooray fiscal responsibility!
Our wonderful bird feeders have been overrun with starlings this past week. I appreciate them as a species, but I loathe them as a feeder visitor. They are fascinating to watch, but such BULLIES. They push all the food they don't like to eat out onto the grass, go through an entire house feeder in a day (I know they aren't eating all of it), and chase away the birds we want to watch. As a result, our feeders have been mostly quiet, with the exception of the wandering gangs of vagabond starlings that show up and make me want to yell out my windows like a crazy person. Still working on figuring out how to stop them.
That's it for now :)
Computer Vision is the answer :-)
