It's amazing how much of our vacations center around searching for amazing food, which was definitely the highlight of Day 3 in Seattle. We slept in a bit after the great jazz music Wednesday night and then went in search of delicious brunch, which we found over by the Space Needle. We followed that up with the EMP museum. The afternoon was spent on a Savor Seattle tour, and we wrapped up the day with a delicious dinner.

Andrew's beard looked particularly voluminous with the humidity by the Sound. |
Brunch was at Portage Bay, which is a local place that has this majestic thing to see above... it's a fruit and whipped cream bar meant to turn your french toast or pancakes or what have you into the plate of your dreams. That bowl of whipped cream was bigger than my head, and it was DELICIOUS.

Day three and Andrew was already getting sick of photos... oh Andrew, so much more are left to come. He got a terrific breakfast sandwich on some neat sort of bread with eggs and fig jam, the works. |
I decked out some incredible french toast. |
A slow, delightful brunch. |
Walking to the EMP museum! There was a buttload of construction that made our navigating a little difficult, and AppleMaps took some artistic liberties with its route, but we got there! |
Lo and behold, they had a Star Wars costume exhibit that was pretty terrific. |
Yes, THE Darth Vader Costume! (Or at least, A Darth Vader costume!) |
They also had a killer Indie Games exhibit featuring a bunch of indie games you could play. Most of them were hard to understand and difficult to win, but charming and bizarre. |
The Music Lab exhibit had some absolutely wonderful instrument interpretives to help you understand the basics of playing the guitar, drums, etc. |
They also had rooms where you could privately practice instruments like the keyboard or guitar, and a few other jam session rooms. Andrew and I used a jam session room that recorded the session, but unfortunately I lost the card that allowed us to download it online. |
Best part of the day, the Savor Seattle Gourmet Tour! Starting at the Yellow Leaf Cupcake Company. |
They also sold adorable macarons. |
Starting with a Bacon and Pancakes cupcake. |
Also a chocolate and tomato soup cupcake. |
Next to Serious Pie at Pike's Place for some terrific pizza. |
Then to Cha:n, a Korean restaurant with to-die-for short ribs. |
Next stop was a truffle shop, where we were able to test different truffled concoctions. |
Potato and leek soup with white truffle oil. |
On the right is TruffleBra, the most righteous dude to ever love truffles. |
Alaskan Razor Clam Chowder with white truffle oil (from the aforementioned truffle shop) at Steelhead Diner, another Pike's Place local restaurant. Delicious! |
A killer margarita from Von's House of 1000 Spirits |
Also a delicious salmon cake from Von's |
Oooo that margarita was tart! |
A delicious end: Pistachio gelato and wild berry sorbetto from Gelatiamo |
We didn't get good pictures, but we went to dinner at an Italian restaurant called Cuomo, and then collapsed back at the hotel for a good night's sleep.
